I mixed these folks last night at Sportsmen’s Tavern in Buffalo, NY. This was the third show in a year and each time they get better and better. The house was rockin’ and fans demanded an encore following the encore they already demanded. I’ve mixed a lot of shows at Sportsmen’s and have never seen a crowd foot stomping and chanting for an encore after an encore. After the second encore, I had to kill the lights and bring up the house music so people would realize that the show had ended.
I’ll be at Sportsmens tomorrow night mixing The Farewell Drifters. They’re a Nashville group that have a little bit of a classic “Everly Brothers” type sound mixed with Americana, Folk-Rock. These dudes are very vocal centric and I’m really looking forward to that.
It’s a $15 door so it should be a pretty great crowd.
During the day I’ll be at Ani DiFranco’s place, Babeville, doing a video installation. Once I wrap that up I’ll swing over to Sportsmens for their sound check.
Let ya know how it goes.
