A little hot dog/ice cream stand in town has this glass case with these sculptures in it. I had to get a closer look since it was rather creepy from a distance.
I didn’t see any signature anywhere by the artist or I would give credit to them for this diorama. It’s great work and I thought the glass enclosure made this even a bit more eerie.
I give the Little Richard part most of the credit for being creepy since he’s actually a little creepy in real life already. I thought this rendering of Elvis was a bit flattering considering the last few years of his life.
Buddy Holly was only 22 when he died. A sad ending to a promising writer’s career and life. There’s a phone call recording of his conversation with Paul Cohen at Decca Records about their not releasing his songs but also not letting him record them anywhere to release them. “That’ll Be the Day” was one of the recordings Decca wouldn’t release, though later they had. I’ve embedded that conversation below. (By the way, my reflection in the top corner adds a little bit of creepiness to this as well.)
