The Radial Reamp with the John Cuniberti reamp circuit.
John Cuniberti is a fantastic Mastering Engineer based at the world famous Plant Recording Studios. It was a long road to getting there, he didn’t wake up in that fantastic room. Along the way, working with a sound reinforcement company in the 70’s until landing a job as Stevie Wonder’s monitor mix engineer, John worked with many great artists but really made his mark with Joe Satriani, earning platinum and gold as producer and engineer.
The original reamping unit was designed and patented by John Cuniberti. There are definitely other choices on the market, but this is the one that uses John’s circuit design.
The Radial Reamp JCR is an indispensable tool in the studio. Session musician’s time is precious and it costs money. Although the best session players already show up with their tone chiseled to perfection, in part why you hired them in the first place, you might be blending other amps and effects into your mix later. Some of these sounds you might have to work on a little bit. Finding amp, preamp, cabinet combinations with plenty of effects combinations can be time consuming. (Fun, too!)
The Radial Reamp JCR allows for me to get the performance of the player without worrying about the tone or gear. Using the Reamp, I can bring the performance back out of the session and through any amps and effects I want, auditioning and tweaking all I want.
This “toy” is passive with output level control, 3 position filter, or you can mute them and use the original circuit.
I love Canada. I love Radial.
